8 unique picture frames to decorate your home

After being in our current home for almost two years now, I am finally getting around to decorating.  I like to live in a space for a little while before making any changes to figure out how to best utilize the space and where I really want to place things.  I've been looking for some unique frames to add in some of our spaces and thought I would do a little round up of some of the ones I found.

Below are some of my current favorite picture frames to fit any decor style.  Whether you like rustic country decor, modern decor, or a shabby chic style, you are bound to find something on the list below.

12 Valentine's Decor Ideas

Hopefully you've put the Christmas decor away and gotten ready for the next big holiday.  My Christmas wreath is still hanging on the front door.   I just don't think about it and since we don't use our front door often, it is out of sight, and therefore out of mind. I promise it will come down this week!

Valentines Day is right around the corner and I need to switch things up, so I thought I'd do a roundup of some of my favorite Valentine's decor ideas right now.

Use some printable wall art for a quick, inexpensive way to incorporate Valentine's Day decor into your home.

Hello 2017!

I hope you all had a great holiday!

I was able to take a few weeks off and just relax with family. It was a much needed break.

It also gave me some time to think about the direction of this blog.  I want to be able to bring you more consistent posts and so I am working on my editorial calendar. You can expect to see more party ideas and tips, home decor ideas and trends, and more recipes on the blog.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year friends!  I hope you all had an amazing 2016.

Last year I made a commitment to myself to be fearless in 2016.  I  finally started this blog and opened my etsy shop.  It was a step in the right direction.

I have been struggling with what my word of the year would be for 2017.  Last year it came fairly easily, but this year, I just couldn't seem to find the right word.  My head has been all over the place. 2016 has been a rewarding year, but also a very hard year.  There have been a lot of ups and downs for my family and I.  Last night I finally came to the right word.  I've decided my word of the year for 2017 is:

word of the year: focus

Focus on me.
Focus on my family.
Focus on growing my business and this blog.

After the new year I will be posting my blog schedule and want you can expect to see here at Pine Row Designs.

Thank you for reading and your support this year. I look forward to bringing you more content in the new year and helping you celebrate life, one special moment at a time.

I wish you and your family a prosperous new year filled with joy, laughter, and love.

Blue and Green Safari Baby Shower

safari baby shower, jungle baby shower

A friend and I got to host a baby shower for a sweet work colleague of ours recently.  If you follow me on instagram you probably saw some pictures from the big day.  I was so excited for the opportunity to do this.  I hadn't planned a party in a while.  It was a lot of fun.  It was a nice reminder of how much I enjoy event planning.

We decided to use her inspiration photo for her nursery, as inspiration for her shower.  Sam Simon's beautiful Silver Safari nursery was her inspiration photo for her nursery.

Silver Safari Nursery

To incorporate her blue and green safari nursery theme into her shower, I created this fun safari themed baby shower party kit. Using someone's nursery theme or colors for their baby shower is great because they can reuse some of their shower decor and incorporate it into their nursery.

We used navy cups filled with white cheddar popcorn and a white fruit tray with green grapes, blueberries, and sliced green apples.  Cupcakes from Muddy's Bakeshop here in Memphis completed the main food table.  I also created these baby's breath mason jar centerpieces to go on the main table.
We finished it off with some fun green punch.

If you haven't been to Muddy's yet, it's a must when in Memphis.  They have so many sweet treats. Just look at those cupcakes!  We went with her favorites, their plain jane vanilla cupcakes and prozac chocolate cupcakes.  We had them use green and blue sprinkles to go with our shower theme.  They came out great and were delicious.

Isn't that diaper cake amazing?  A friend made it.  I love how it turned out.  The mommy to be brought an ultrasound picture and we used it to round out the drink table. I love how it all turned out!

The invitationparty kit, and alphabet game I created for her shower are now available in our etsy shop.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! Thank you for reading this little blog of mine and your support this year.  I hope you are able to spend time surrounded by family and friends.

Homemade Chicken Vegetable Cream Soup

homemade chicken vegetable cream soup recipe

I thought i would share this easy vegetable soup recipe I made this week.  I love soups in the fall/winter time.  They are quick to make, filling, and an easy one pot meal.  It also makes enough for us to have leftovers for the next day.  I love recipes that go a long way.

This homemade chicken vegetable soup recipe is a great way to get additional veggies into your diet.  It's also great for picky eaters and a way to get vegetables into your kids.  Everyone will love this soup!

  1. Sautee chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil/butter mixture in a 3 quart soup pot.
  2. Remove onion and garlic mixture and set aside.
  3. Add diced chicken to the pot and cook through.  Remove chicken and set aside.
  4. Return onion/garlic mixture to the pot.  Add 2 cups chicken broth, and the 2 cups of vegetables and bring to a boil.  Simmer for 20 minutes or until vegetables are soft.
  5. Take the pot off the stove and use an immersion blender to puree the vegetables in the stock.
  6. Return pot to heat. Add the rest of the chicken stock, the heavy cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Add in your cooked chicken.  Stir to combine and simmer for an additional 20 minutes.  Stirring occasionally.
  7. Garnish with additional shredded cheddar cheese and/or croutons to serve.
This soup recipe is also gluten free and could easily be customized to a vegetarian diet too.  Just leave out the chicken and use vegetable stock instead.

I hope you enjoy it!
